àñ«àñ¿àññàÑì áis a grammatical classification in the Dhatupatha. It applies Ashtadhyayi Sutra 6.4.92 àñ«àñ¿àññàñ¾àñé àñ¹àÑìàñ°àñ¸àÑìàñµàñâ to specific Roots in Dhatupatha.7.2.116 àñààññ àñëàñªàñºàñ¾àñ»àñ¾àñâáàÑñ For Roots having penultimate àñà that end in a consonant, the penultimate àñà takes Vriddhi for Affixes having àñžàÑì or àñúàÑì Tag. Note: Primary Root Verb forms for 1c - 9c Roots are unaffected. Applies only for Secondary àñúàñ¿àñúàñ¿àÑìàññàñâ Verbs.6.4.92 àñ«àñ¿àññàñ¾àñé àñ¹àÑìàñ°àñ¸àÑìàñµàñâ àÑñ For Roots classifed as àñ«àñ¿àññàÑì i.e. with àñ«àÑì Tag, their penultimate vowel before the causative àñúàñ¿àñÜàÑì áis shortened. This àñ«àñ¿àññàÑì classification is given to specific Roots in the Dhatupatha, by Gana Sutras. áThis is a grammatical system to ensure that Root to Verb Spellings can be derived correctly and be accurate. For àñ«àñ¿àññàÑì Roots for making àñúàñ¿àñúàñ¿àÑìàññàñâ Verb Spellings, Sutras 7.2.116 and 6.4.92 apply consecutively. By 7.2.116 the penultimate àñààñòàñ¾àñ°àñâ becomes àñåàñòàñ¾àñ°àñâ àÑñ By 6.4.92 the penultimate àñåàñòàñ¾àñ°àñâ reverts back to àñààñòàñ¾àñ°àñâ àÑñ ááRoots of Dhatupatha on which 7.2.116 can apply:-Roots having penultimate àñà and final consonant.-Thus it cannot apply to àñçàñªàñ¿àññàÑì Roots, since we get penultimate àñ¿àÑì -It cannot apply to Roots with final conjunct.-It cannot apply to 10c àñòàñÑàñ¾àñªàñ¿àñâ Roots 1851 àñòàñÑ to 1943 àññàÑüàññàÑìàñÑ since there is penultimate consonant and final àñàRoots of Dhatupatha on which 6.4.92 can apply:-Roots classified as àñ«àñ¿àññàÑì by Gana Sutras in Dhatupatha-It can apply to all àñ«àñ¿àññàÑì Roots that have penultimate vowel-Thus it can apply to Root 778 àñ¹àÑçàñ¡ àñµàÑçàñ·àÑìàñŸàñ¿àÑç that is àñ«àñ¿àññàÑì and has penultimate vowel. (This is the only àñ«àñ¿àññàÑì Root in Dhatupatha with penultimate vowel other than àñààñòàñ¾àñ°àñâ )-Some àñ«àñ¿àññàÑì Roots are àñçàñªàñ¿àññàÑì (e.g. 769 àñòàÑìàñ·àñúàñ¿áàñùàññàñ¿àñªàñ¾àñ¿àñ»àÑïàñâ ) so Sutra 6.4.92 cannot apply-Some àñ«àñ¿àññàÑì Roots have final conjunct (e.g. 999 àñ°àñžàÑìàñúáàñ°àñ¾àñùàÑç ) so 6.4.92 applies only when àñ¿àÑì drops and we have penultimate àñà -It cannot apply to 10c àñòàñÑàñ¾àñªàñ¿àñâ Roots 1851 àñòàñÑ to 1943 àññàÑüàññàÑìàñÑ since there is penultimate consonant and final àñàThere are some Roots in the Dhatupatha whose Secondary àñúàñ¿àñÜàÑì Verb Forms are àñ«àñ¿àññàÑì àÑñ These have been neatly collected for accurate Verb Spelling. 3x3 Parasmaipada and Atmanepada Verb Tables have been given for these Roots.
